WoF 2010: Team Russia

Gratz to Team Russia for rank three of world championship!

Man, I was pretty afraid you would break through from zero to hundred percent! But okay ... partly it's a lottery ...

I enjoyed to see your well organized and strong team at this year's WoF ... as well as judge and as combatant (Team DACH).

Thank you for participation. I hope to see you again next year.

Gratz Russia and thanks for a great and fair match.

We will meet again next year, I think :)

I could say we were unlucky and everything just kept going wrong for us that day and that would be true. Or I could say we were the smallest and least experienced team of 3 and that would be true too.

But that would be like trying to take away from how great 2 teams we were beaten by really were last night and that's something I'd hate to do.

We lost. Deservingly so. 2 other teams were better. We've learnt things from it. We hopefully will be bit stronger next time.

We won. We got the bronze. I hope it won't be seen as undeserved as what we lacked in experience we made up in the will to die trying.

It was fun while it lasted. I'm so glad it's over. This Russian Summer (L) still has like 2/3 of TT left!

P.S. Thanks for that car, Hurricane and sponsors. I'll definitely enjoy playing with it. It was so close to getting into my 'want and can afford but just can't justify buying' list. A very close save and a great way to finish this WoF season :wtg:

Well done Russia on doing so well at your first WoF attempt, see you again next time :)

I am from Team DACH. I think we share the bitter taste of not being number one. But we are proud! Your team did an impressive job. My bet before the final was: 1st: Russia, 2nd: USA, 3rd: DACH :)

Don't worry ... the former Team Germany got a long bad story with fighting against USA since the very first WoF in 2007. We had to fight against USA again and again. But we managed to reach the semi finals.

I'm looking forward to WoF 2011. I just talked to some people. And I will talk to Hurri regarding this Mixed-team-thingy also.

Serious! Don't be desperate after the first attempt ending up at rank three in this world championship! ;) Vice versa! Be proud of this rank as a result from the first attempt!

thank you for the kind words, our dear opponents! :) may I say "friends" now? ;)
as I said before this WoF spirit and fair play are the things I admire the most and this spirit was the discover for me on this PE World Championship :)

It makes me proud if you call me "a friend"! It provokes a warm feeling to have combatants who can see the whole thing in a fair and sportive way. :)

You are very welcome, DoctorBo!

[To say it clearly: Let's kick USA next year! Either you or our team should do it!] :D

Dear Team Russia,

after this exciting weekend i finally find the right mood to talk to you. Look where we are comming from and where we went to in the last 7 months. Loads of defiance have built up our teams, fueled by a resentment that turned out to be a sportive one. From 23 participating teams we got number 2 and 3. I think it was the third match of the qualifiers where you showed that youre ready for the top. I rememeber when i jumped to the judges during that match and couldnt hold back a "darn look at those Russians" while you spammed your globals like cock-elongating-adds on a cheap porn site.
While USA and us succesfully managed to hide our real strength during the group matches Russia and Australia became the biggest threat in this tournament. Be aware that this had a significant influence on our strategies, so that some of our hunters called me a tyrant rather than a teamcaptain. "To nerve" in german doesnt have that positive connotation like in the english language, "jemanden nerven" is "to stress" somebody. I stressed my team because of Russia and Australia, both were board leaders at that time.

I am on a cold turkey already and i cant await next years WoF, how about you?

I SSAY LET'S WoF it!!!!!! 2011 if fookin close!!!:eyecrazy:

P.S. Her's a countpoint where topic should become dead after my post..as usual it happens)

Still not 100% over for me and I definitely CAN wait for the next one -) I honestly need a break from this. I can only hope next one will be easier. We will not have to figure rules out on the go at least.

But it was fun while it lasted. And many exciting things happened. We were not a team made for WoF. It was WoF that made a team out of us - renewed worn out and almost forgotten bonds, re-built the bridges that were destroyed and led to many new discoveries.

We weren't really trying to hide our strength because it was something we had to see and figure out for ourselves. I'm sure you can relate to that to some extent. But then you haven't had us fooled either ;-) We knew that we had to meet 2 stronger opponents in the final. Us scoring not enough wasn't due to not knowing who we were against or not trying hard enough. We lost because you just were stronger no matter how hard we tried. And because of some luck and tech-related issues :p

Thanks for all your cheers and support, team DACH. You were one of our biggest rivals and yet almost feel like friends now ('almost', because I realize you still plan to kick our ass again next year -)).

I'd say all three teams kicked serious ass this year:)

Gratz for 3rd place. That's no small thing. Seemed like a bad day for ya. We've been there and know how it feels. :(

You guys were great competition and am proud to have played against ya!

Rock on and see ya next year!!

*I have put a post in suggestion thread about the snable.... :D I hope that since it's posted by winning team member it won't then come across as 'whining' but taken for what it is as I don't think it was a fair / good thing to have that many points (125) on one noob mob in a final.

Well, I think we can spend all our time speculating about what would (or would NOT) it be like if there would be a different bonus mob... But as a proverb goes, "History doesn't know the word 'If'".
I'd say the moblist for final was way more complicated than any other, but...it should have been like that! That a FINAL! We (team Russia) had a hard-going (and somewhat rude :)) discussion about tactics and strategy and yet we were last. We definetly weren't lucky this time if terms of loot, but this was not a top reason we've lost. The main reason I think was simply lack of experience in WoF. But we will catch up, I promise!;)
Anyways I think this was a very good debute. When we were starting in qualifications we couldn't even hope about going that far, and he we are!

Lastly I'd like to thank all of our competitors for tons of fun, big pile of emotions (both positive and negative) that we've got during that championship, and see you next year!:wtg:

Gratz from Ex cons guys, 3rd place well done :dancing:

в новом году снова!
