When Hurrikane posted a "call to arms for BRAVO COWBOYS" ... I thought to myself ... hey, Moonie and I have Bravos, this might be a cool event for a date night, so why not. Besides, it might turn out to be fun and I could get pics in the process for a little storyline.

WELL ... this turned out to be more than just a date night event ... it was an out and out BLAST, and a continuation of the adrenaline-rushed hunting week we've had so far that started with Slick and the overspawn of Argos SW of Hades, then doing that same run with Moonear and Cat, but expanding the hunt to Armax SW of Caravan, and Atroxes S of Ithaca ... WOW ... and now SPIDERS ... can someone just color my ass tickled purple plz!!!

We all gathered at Nymphtown where Hurrikane assessed how many of us there were ... I still don't recall the exact number, but there were enough to make an Alpha Team led by "AkiranBlade" and a Bravo Team led by "Photonic" ... some chose to wear armor, but most didn't ... why bother was the resounding chorus, as they will take your ass out ANYway, and why take a hit on decay ... a wise choice indeed. :wise:

I found it hysterical that the man who brought this event to light (Hurrikane) was teamless and had to ask someone to team him. He was eventually teamed by AkiranBlade and became a part of the Alpha group (my team btw).

Once we were teamed we were given directions to head S to the outpost. It was indicated that we had a ways to go before we would run into spider-land, but I didn't care ... I got taken out by spiders unexpectedly in the past and I was ready to get my revenge no matter HOW long it damn took to get there ... it was ON as far as I was concerned. So we followed our Team Leader S and then began running along the water away from the PvP zone. Speaking of "zone" ... I was SO in the zone that I don't remember how we got to many of the locations we did ... I just followed the leader and took a few screenies along the way.

We encountered a little bit of lag so we got to another outpost and waited up for everyone in our group to catch up. Once we were all together, AB explained the rules and how the hunt would go down. It was getting more exciting the closer we got to spider-land ... some could even smell the nasty critters and were getting antsy.

It wasn't long before we took off again and headed in the direction where we would find "ground zero" ... and where the much awaited Bravo annihilation of spiders was to take place.

As we headed out, Hurricane said ... MS9, when you take screenies, make sure you get my good side ... well, I think I did just that ...

If he was going to go shirtless, the LEAST he could have done was drop his trows ... oh well, maybe next time I'll get the GOOD ass shot!

Bravos meet the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" ... Cont'd

We finally got to "ground zero" where we would take on the spiders, and AB had us line up one behind the other with approximately the full range of our Bravos so that there would be distance enough to bring the spider closer to the outpost, making it a shorter run for those who died to get back to continue the slaughter!

I was pretty far back, thinking I would give the brave fellas ahead of me a chance to get their asses kicked first before I took on one of these multi-legged hissing bozos. After several had gone down and the spider was within range, I got it tight in my scope and let one go ... what a damn rush THAT was ... first time I ever got to shoot at a spider, let alone be facing one, bcuz they always surprised me from behind when I got hit outta the blue.

Oh ya ... it was on NOW ... I was waiting for the damn Bravo to reload, watching that itsy bitsy spider in my scope become bigger and bigger as it got closer ... then there were TWO wams ... one from my Bravo that did a little more damage to the spider, and one that laid my silly ass out like Little Miss Muppet gone retarded. That's when I heard the hissing for the first time ... I was on Skype with Moonie and asked if his loft pipes were making noise again ... but I was promptly told that the spider was being disrespectful and gloating that he took my purple ass out.

After reviving and gathering some sense about me, I caught up with AB who was scoping out the horizon and tracking down spiders ... I wanted to ask him what he thought his sword was going to do but decided I best keep that thought to myself ...

It wasn't long before AB spotted an Alpa and everyone started lining up again in order to draw it closer to the outpost. I once again stayed back far enough so that I wouldn't have to run far to get to the spider and take a group shot once the spider was taken out. It was a challenge for sure, and we missed looting one spider bcuz the guys were waiting on my ass to get there in time for the shot ... sorry guys ... I'll do better next time!

Once again my teammates took their shots in order to bring the lifeline of the Alpha down, and made great headway toward getting it closer to the outpost ... I waited until I could get it in range and scope it. I was ready to give it another go, and when I saw how far down the others had gotten its lifeline, WhooHoo I thought, maybe I have a chance of takin' this booger OUT ...

I musta been on crack or something, bcuz that was SUCH a dysfunctional thought ... what a lesson THIS was ...

After a while, it got to be old getting my ass splattered all over the place, so at one point the guys were able to get a spider close enough to the outpost before getting killed ... so when Moonie and I ran outta the terminal, we saw that the spider had gotten close enough for the turret to take it out ... I said ... QUICK, pull out your Bravo Moonie, this is a photo op if there ever WAS one ... I at least wanted us to have a pic where we were conscious and LOOKING like we could do some damage ... *click, click* ...

11SH.jpg

All of a sudden, Hurrikane went running buy with Bravo engaged, oblivious to Moonie and I and the spider carcass, but I snapped him out of it and said, come on "H" get into this photo op with us ... it may be the only one we get without lookin' like colorful fertilizer ...

12SH.jpg

AB and Photonic caught the all chat and joined us ... so we were pretty happy we at least got THIS little group shot ...

13SH.jpg

The spider-run continued until we were able to get a spider close enough to the outpost and away from the turrets so we could take it out and have a group shot to boot ... but not before yours truly got her ass splattered again ... but others were taken out before me, as you can plainly see ... this spider was having a field day with us for sure ...

14SH.jpg

BUT ... we persevered, and when it came to the bottomline ... we got the trophy and the group pic afterall ...

To Hurrikane ... thx my new friend for creating such an awesome event. It was one of the best times we ever had. Despite the shakey start, we regrouped and kicked some spider ASS up in there ... ok, eventually!!

To My Alpha Teammates ... thx you guys for making this gal feel welcome and part of your testosterone-driven craziness ... I loved every minute. Y'all made it fun with your humor and your unique styles of hunting.

To My Moonie ... this was one of the best dates we've ever had Baby ... thx for jumping on the bandwagon with me and making it more of an intense and fun experience through Skyping.

I vote that we do this as a monthly event just to skill up on our technique in taking these hairy dudes out more efficiently. Anyone up for it?

PS:

I forgot to mention that along the way we encountered a barrage of Tantillion critters that clustered in attack-formation enough to take a few of us out now and then, but again ... we persevered and stayed focus on our main goal ...
"Bravo Annihilation of Araneatrox" ... :sniper:
